Thukpa
thukpa is a tibetian origined dish known as thenthuk in Tibet and is famous as thukpa in Nepalese cuisine too. Popular snack consumed by Nepalese in street food stalls and in restaurant too. Chicken thukpa & Buff(water buffalo) thukpa are widely famous in Nepal.
Ingredients required for preparation:
- 1/2 cup tomatoes(chopped)
- 1/2 tbsp cumin powder
- 1-2 tbsp salt/ as required
- 1/2 liter Water (for soup )
- 1/2 tbsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tbsp Ginger garlic
- 3 pc Green chilli
- 1/3 cup of green onion / spring onion (chopped)
- 1/3 cup of red onion(julienne cut)
- coriander leaves (chopped)
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1 Cup Cabbage (julienne cut)
- 1 cup Carrot(julienne cut)
- 1 Cup Capsicum(Julienne cut)
- 1 tbsp Garlic(chopped)
- 400 gm boneless chicken/buff meat(julienne cut)
- 2 cup boiled chowmein/noodles
Note: (tbsp=tablespoon, pcs=pieces, cup=regular soup bowl, gm=gram)
Method of preparation:
- Heat a pan & add oil
- As soon oil gets heated add chopped ginger&garlic, turmeric powder and stir well
- Add chicken/buff & let it to be fried for couple of minutes
- Add the onion,green chilli,red chilli powder, salt & stir well
- Add all the vegetable cuts(tomatoes,spring onion, capsicum,carrot,cabbage) & mix well
- Add water & stir well
- As soon soup reaches to boiling point add the boiled noodles and mix well
- Finally add chopped coriander leaves & squeeze a lime in it
- Thukpa is ready to serve. :x yuum :x
